Arkansas Student Loan Authority Introduces Fund My Future
Little Rock, AR: The Arkansas Student Loan Authority (ASLA) introduces Fund My Future – a web portal providing comprehensive information and access to student financial aid resources for Arkansans. Fund My Future provides a free scholarship search and is a clearinghouse of information specifically for Arkansas nursing and education students.
“Fund My Future is a catalyst for addressing nursing and teacher workforce shortages in the state of Arkansas,” says Nancy K. Smith, director of marketing and operations. “This portal streamlines college access, financial aid resources and employment opportunities for nursing and teacher education students.”
The mission of ASLA is to provide information about and access to education funding for all Arkansas students who wish to attend an institution of higher learning. To that end, ASLA offers the Arkansas EdLoan, a reduced interest rate Stafford loan program for targeted populations in education, nursing, law enforcement, paramedics and the Arkansas National Guard. Available through ASLA’s network of Arkansas lenders, the EdLoan features an immediate interest rate reduction of up to four percentage points for qualified federal Stafford and Graduate PLUS borrowers.
ASLA’s Student Outreach Services division provides students, parents and high school counselors with cutting edge scholarship search tools. A new online scholarship search is dedicated to awarding Arkansas students for academic excellence and community service. ASLA will continue to add state, regional and national scholarships as well as career specific scholarships and grants.
