About ASLA

The Arkansas Student Loan Authority is a nonprofit state agency created to provide access to and information about educational funding for all Arkansas students who wish to attend institutions of higher education.

For the last three decades, we have made higher education accessible to Arkansas students by participating in the Federal Family Education Loan Program. ASLA is invested in Arkansas students and families.  Our customer service is first rate.  We have originated and disbursed student loans at universities and colleges in Arkansas as well as across the United States. Because we are non-profit we have been able to give back to the community through a variety of educational and scholarship programs. 

We support community efforts for increasing awareness about higher education through our outreach services. Working with high school counselors, college Trio counselors as well as admissions offices, we distribute free information and offer free assistance with college preparation and available financial aid programs.  Fund My Future will provide the information you need to plan for college and assist you in your search for scholarships and financial aid.
 

In concert with our workshops, college fairs and presentations, Fund My Future is a web portal providing the same information plus a focus on Arkansas’ critical career needs for nurses and teachers. Students have access to a web-based scholarship database at no charge. They are able to create a MyBackPack profile that will help manage your scholarship information.

Our mission to provide access to and information about education funding continues even as ASLA evolves. We will be here for students, parents, financial aid professionals and high school counselors.
